Car washes

The system counts every car at the entrance, reconciles the real flow against the till, and shows the owner which regular customers have stopped coming. Recognition runs on the car wash’s own computer — video never leaves the premises.

The problem

A car wash owner does not know three things, and each one costs money every month: how many cars there actually were (the till counts receipts, not vehicles), which regulars have disappeared, and when the real peak hours fall. Shift rotas are built on gut feeling, and a drop in revenue only becomes visible six months later.

What we did

  • Connects to existing CCTV — a new camera is only installed if nothing currently points at the entrance
  • Recognition runs locally: the program works on the car wash computer, and only the plate, timestamp and camera name go to the server
  • Browser dashboard with reports by day, week, month and custom range
  • A list of customers who stopped coming: plate, number of visits and how many days since the last one
  • Ukrainian plate format AA 0000 AA with uncertain readings filtered out — better to record nothing than an error
  • Export to a spreadsheet for accounting
